Video | Merck Group
As one for patients
The video you see below has a lot of meaning for me. In my role as Creative Consultant and Chief Video Producer, I coordinated with agencies on the ground, management, and community stakeholders to bring a powerful narrative to life.

Case Study
As One For patients
A global, employee-led narrative to reinforce Merck Healthcare's worldwide positioning
-
Merck Healthcare needed a flagship piece of external communications to reinforce its global positioning and draw curious audiences to its website.
In addition, internally, employees across Merck's other functions had little sense of what the Healthcare business actually did or stood for.
The project also coincided with Merck Group's 350th anniversary, raising the stakes for a piece that could speak to both audiences credibly, without one undermining the other. -
As Creative Consultant and Chief Video Producer, I did the following:
– Advised on content strategy and narrative development from the original brief, shaping what the film would be before a single frame was shot.– Advised management to make the video a story about those who are really working in Merck Healthcare, even if it is only visual storytelling. This idea was accepted and three Merck Healthcare employees were selected from around the globe: Jenny in Indonesia, Mauro in Argentina, and Marian in Egypt, plus Róisín, Managing Director of Merck Healthcare in Ireland.
– Produced shot lists and narrative outlines for local film crews in each market, briefing agencies on creative intent and requirements.
– Prepared each employee for camera, communicating the vision so they could work with confidence and authenticity.
– Oversaw ingestion and cataloguing of footage from four international shoots.
– Edited the full film independently: audio mix, music, licensed Merck stock footage, visual effects, and graphics.
– Localized with subtitles for key EMEA markets to support internal distribution across every function.
– Partnered directly with Merck Group's Healthcare Communications Manager throughout.
-
The film was screened at Merck's global townhall and cited internally as a model for values-led communications.
Published as the flagship video on Merck Healthcare's global website, it reinforced the business's external positioning during Merck Group's 350th anniversary, while doubling as an internal piece that introduced employees across every function to what Merck Healthcare actually does. -
This project asked one film to do two jobs at once: convince external audiences that Merck Healthcare was worth their attention, and give Merck's own global workforce, most of whom sit outside Healthcare entirely, a reason to feel connected to it.
Meeting both meant treating the piece not as a corporate video but as an authentically human story of progress and aid, that happened to also carry a 350-year-old company's strategic message.
